Biophilic design principles played a pivotal role in our strategy. In our quest for uniqueness, we introduced bespoke Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GRC) pots that transcend conventional design boundaries. We are especially proud not only to be trusted with such a project but to be able to deliver the wide range of artificial trees and other items required for these two amazing restaurants. Each has its own unique and fashionable style that we had to follow. And it was the combination of workmanship in producing such a beautiful artificial cherry tree as well as the inspiration of an experienced team in uniquely decorating the space with artificial trees hanging philo leaves, cherry blossom garlands, artificial willow blossoms, bushy hanging philo plants in coconut hanging baskets. And the beautiful peace lilies (spathyphyllum) known for their calming effect were a special touch.

Two restaurants with such different concepts but with a wonderful variety of combining artificial trees and decorative hanging plants with natural plants.

Your Environmental Friendly Amazon-esque Plant Design For Offices | Legatum Limited

At Legatum Limited the design concept was to select plants following an Amazon-esque concept for Outdoor Landscaping. At the same time, the client didn’t want to be facing huge maintenance costs. In terms of indoor planting, the only credible and valuable solution was to use Hydroculture plants. Hydroculture plants have a self-regulatory watering system, which can be controlled and handled by the customers themselves. Hydroculture plants are without soil and planted in pure water only, making them the most environmentally healthy solution for any indoor planting system. No soil, means no flies, no odor, instead natural humidity to counterbalance stagnant AC air.

The Amazon-esque design allowed us to go beyond the more typical plants and put together the lushest and most unique living plants – and from the viewpoint of an indoor landscaper being in this business since 1980 it was pure joy: Kentia Palms, Rhapis Palms, Ficus cyathistipula, Monstera deliciosa, Philodendron xanadu, Philodendron narrow, Chamaedorea elegans, Spathiphyllum sensation, Ficus lyrata, Ficus lyrata bambino, Ficus elastica abidjan.

Even outdoors – more conscious because of the light and weather situation – we put together a beautiful arrangement of Areca Palms, Washingtonia Palms, Ficus Wild Shape, Cycas, Bougainvillea, Ruelias & Clerodendrum – mixing color and shapes.

None of the planting was done systematically. The plants were planted to create a natural feeling, simply put together as they were handed to the planting team.

Further planter boxes were filled again with more Dracaena Surculosa in the meeting rooms. Planter boxes with artistic Peperomia plants in the pantry.

Lush Kentia palms and Spathiphyllum sensation plants in stylish Memory Pots designed by Marta Daza are placed in main offices and quiet spaces. Artificial bamboo which combines natural bamboo trunks with artificial leaves in the Zen Room. And gorgeously designed green walls of preserved moss in a magnificent green color range.

The Sofitel Hotel @ Wafi “The Obelisk” is an elegant and prestigious project that combines beautiful living plants with high-quality artificial plants for home decor to create a harmonious and inviting space.

Lush Kentia Palms of 220 cm height up to 300 cm height. All are exquisitely combined with GRC planters, each matching in color and design to the specific area. Magnificent artificial trees are customized with natural trunks. Artificial Ivy and Philo hanging plants in planter boxes and handmade macrame hangers.

Elegant Plant Pots & Soil-Free Hydroculture Plants | Rashid Hospital – Emergency Unit

Soil plants contain and attract natural insects. And that isn’t acceptable for a hygienic space such as a hospital. Luckily the hydroculture planting system offers the perfect solution to use insect-free life plants and add the natural freshness and humidity to a hospital space that it vitally needs.

The hydroculture planting system is a non-soil planting system. From the very start, the plant is grown in water and then directly planted into leca stones or hydroculture stones. These special stones do not provide insects with a breeding space. And neither does water attract insects. Insects can not live in a water-based planting system such as the hydroculture planting system. Therefore it is the only solution when you want to use life plants in hospitals.

And it can not be stressed enough how important living plants are for a hospital. The natural and physical benefits of hydroculture plants have been shown in numerous tests.

The polyethylene plant pots made in Germany used in this project were customized to match in color of the area. The benefit of using polyethylene plant pots over fiberglass/GRP plant pots is that the color never wears off as it is part of the original material and not painted on. Further, these plant pots are robust and do not dent or break. The perfect choice for such a commonly used area such as a hospital. Exclusive Plant Pots were included as the focal point for the entrance area – customized to match the indoor color scheme.

The plant selection was based on the existing light situation. While Ficus plants could be used at the entrance where they had enough natural light, inside it was ‘dark’. Never forget that lamp lights do not provide the correct light a natural plant needs for its growth. So for areas where the light situation is less, special plant growth lamps can be installed or plants that do grow in dark areas should be selected – as was done in this project.

It is especially exciting when the client agrees to go beyond the typical selection and agrees to try something new like a Rotational Plant Pot. In this case, we had the Rotational Plant Pot painted in a beautiful fresh red RAL color. Enough to add color, but without it being too bright not to fit an office environment. For the office of the Director, we selected natural wood plant pots from our exclusive range and combined them with exotic hydroculture plants. The special planting system we are specialized in and are known for.

Our expertise lies also in taking note to select the correct plant in terms of the light situation for each space, but also in selecting the right plant for that special plant pot shape.

We at Plants Design don’t simply deliver a plant arrangement. For us, the plant arrangement is a decor object, carefully selected to match the design and the space. Important is that the combination of plant and plant pot is unique, striking, and not common.

For this project, the emphasis was to keep with one plant pot color for the different areas of the office but to provide a beautiful variety of hydroculture plants, for example, Kentia palm, Dracaena branched, Clusea, Beaucarnea, Spathyphyllum, Pachia, Cycus. There is such a wide range of plant types, not only Kentia palms and Ficus. And as beautiful as these two plant types are, it is very important to us as a plant design (!) company, to use in each project other and different plant types from the wide range of plants at our large nursery. There is beauty in each plant type and it would be a shame not to introduce them to our projects and clients. And who isn’t fascinated by the new?
